An Independent Future for Young Adults with Learning Disabilities and/or Attention Disorders

Has it been a struggle to achieve independence, happiness and success with learning disabilities and/or attention disorders? Have compensation techniques or accommodations available in the school system not been feasible in your transition into college, university, or the workforce? Learn more about how the Eaton Brain Improvement Centre (EBIC) strengthens the weak cognitive areas of the brain underlying a student’s learning disabilities and/or attention disorder leading to greater ease and rate of learning, as well as improved opportunities for college programming and employment.

A Solution for Young Adults Diagnosed with a Learning Disability and/or ADHD

For a young adult diagnosed with dyslexia, ADD/ADHD symptoms and other learning disabilities, EBIC offers a solution with an end date rather than the lifetime of support usually prescribed. Students typically require individualized two- to four-year programs to improve their cognitive functioning so that they can successfully transition back into the regular mainstream environment with their peers. With improved cognitive functioning, students are then ready to effectively manage and comprehend academic content in mainstream classroom environments or acquire the skills required to succeed in the workforce. More importantly, students regain their confidence and can function with reduced, and in many cases without special education assistance or accommodations to aid previous weaknesses. Read some testimonials about the impact the Eaton Brain Improvement Centre has had on students.

Full-time and Part-time Options

Students, typically ages 18-28, come to EBIC with varied needs and goals. Some are preparing for the GED or plan to work on completing their high school through working towards a Dogwood. Others are in transition from high school to post-secondary, while still others are preparing for new employment opportunities. The flexibility of EBIC’s schedule, which offers both morning and afternoon sessions Monday through Friday, as well as part-time options, allows these students to work during the week, or to take courses, while participating in the program.

Regardless of their goals and their reasons for participating in the program, EBIC students leave with increased learning capacities, a sense of accomplishment, improved attention, enhanced self-esteem, and a strong work ethic.
